What the World Needs Now
We need more love. We need more compassion. We need more kindness.
We can’t begin to create these situations for others until we can begin to heal our own hearts.
Hello, thanks for visiting to read more about the stone(s) or scrub you recently acquired from me. If you would like to read more about what I am bringing to this party, you can do that here.
Back to the heart of the matter. Our hearts handle it all. It’s the motherboard, where all the circuits originate and connect, incoming, outbound. The busy intersection of our emotions and our physical and spiritual selves.
Sidebar about the title/name of the workshop: In 1965, Hal David (lyrics) and Burt Bacharach (melody) collaborated on “What the World Needs Now is Love”. Originally recorded by Jackie DeShannon and released in April, 1965, they allegedly wrote the melody and chorus two years prior to Hal perfecting a line in the lyrics, after which the rest of the song “almost wrote itself” according to Bacharach. The subtext for the song was the Vietnam war, which was a very divisive and troubling time in the United States. (Source: Anyone Who Had a Heart, by Burt Bacharach, great book if you love music!!) I felt like this was particularly relevant given our current times.
Regardless of the origins of Valentine’s Day, the heart and our relationships certainly deserve a “day” of celebration and I was inspired to create a collection of stones for the heart and a body scrub fit for a god or goddess. Keep reading for an opportunity to attend a free online session about Rose Quartz and crystal healing, that is my heartfelt gift to you and the world this month.
Heart Healing Stone Collection – 4 Essential Stones
Garnet Tumbled: I love to find the connection between plants and rocks! The name garnet originates from granatus (Latin) which means roughly pomegranate. Is this really a coincidence that the number one health benefit of a pomegranate is heart health? The clues are all around us people! But the garnet is protective, it looks like our blood, it’s very grounding. When you feel overwhelmed I feel like Garnet would be a good stone to carry or wear.
Hematite Polished: I’ve always been drawn to this stone, the weight and density of it is very comforting to me. Recently I was introduced through my Stone Medicine Practitioner training to the benefits of sleeping with hematite. It’s very relaxing and helps connect you to the source, I definitely feel a difference when it’s close by.
Rose Quartz Heart: Quartz is the most universally found crystal on our beautiful planet earth, made from the two abundant elements – oxygen and silicon. Rose Quartz gets its beautiful pink hues from from trace elements like titanium, iron, or manganese. Very calming to the heart spirit and plays well with others.
Watermelon Tourmaline Rod: Tourmalines, in general, are connectors, if you look at the structure of the rods in particular you’ll see the structural striations of a columnar nature. The heart has striated muscles that are highly organized tissues that can convert chemical energy to physical work. Hmmm, I think this alone is what elevates this stone to the top of the heart helper list. It literally is like your heart in the form of a crystal!
The Venetian Body Scrub – a Tribute to Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and relationships
This proprietary scrub contains essential oils of clary sage, helichrysum, geranium, rose and ylang ylang. Epsom salt, himalayan pink salt, finely ground rose buds, almond oil, coconut oil, and jojoba oils.
You just need a little handful to help exfoliate and moisturize after cleansing the skin.
