Mother’s Day and the May Gift Box

While the origins of Mother’s Day may be controversial I think we can all agree on some level that all of our ancestors deserve to be honored. So despite the fact that in years past I may have had the occasional “Hallmark reaction” and commented that I don’t like when expectations are hyped up, it is nice to take a moment to thank the people in our life for their commitment to our success. And if you feel that a gift is appropriate tribute, I have something to offer to you in this post.

Several friends and customers have suggested that I create a gift boxy type of thing. Good suggestion! This is what I came up for this month – May. I’m thinking maybe I should add a “Build a Box” option on the store, let me know what you think about that.

May’s box has a Spring theme that comes through on each included product:

The Celestial Spring Body Scrub

Oils:  Bergamot, Clary Sage, Cypress, Frankincense and Lavender

Made with sweet almond oil from California, organic coconut oil, Jojoba oil and only CPTG Certified Pure Tested Grade® essential oils from DoTerra.

Epsom salts help to exfoliate and increase skin circulation.

Comes with a surprise spring crystal. You can read more about the different crystals and how they align with the spring season and the oils used in the scrub here.

Mini Moon Smudge Stick

A stick of Luna Sundara Palo Santo, some fresh lavender, purple sage and rosemary with a drilled amethyst moon druzy crystal.

Druzy refers to sets of tiny crystals of minerals that form on the surface of another stone. There are many types of druzy, because there are many types of minerals. Each type of druzy has particular characteristics, such as crystal size, luster and color.

When the herbs dry, you can use the smudge stick to cleanse the air and the crystal can be wrapped and made into a jewelry piece, displayed or carried as a pocket stone. I also have some of the moons that have a hole drilled at the top (you can request one of those – supplies limited).

The moon is said to be associated with feminine energy -receiving, intuition, going with the flow, play, self expression, creativity, and emotions.

Dried Herbal-Floral Sachet

Full of dried, homegrown, purple sage leaves and flowers, rosemary, lavender leaves and flowers, and rose petals.

Comes with a small polished Rose Quartz pocket stone.

Rose quartz is known as the stone of unconditional love, making it a treasure for any mom. Cultivating love of all types – including self-love – it also helps support emotional healing and serves as a beautiful reminder that love is all around us, most importantly, within ourselves.

Let this stone serve as a reminder to take time for yourself throughout your day to take a few cleansing breaths or create a quiet moment (even if you have to hide in the bathroom for 2 minutes!!) In order to love others you must first love yourself.

Genuine Rose Quartz Bracelet

Wearing crystals is one of the best ways to work with their energy.

I love wearing crystal bracelets! You’ll usually find me with at least five different gemstones on my arm.

Here’s a tip to help you when you feel exhausted or frustrated/angry. Go somewhere where you can sit quietly. Take the bracelet off, close your eyes and count the beads. The magic number is 22! See if you can count to 66 – three times around. Go slowly and breathe deeply.

Side note: Traditionally meditation bead strands or “males” have 108 beads and a guru bead or tassel to help guide you through the process of meditation. There are multiple theories on why 108 is considered a sacred number in several ancient philosphies.

The May Gift Box – $60

All wrapped up in a nice neat package. Individually these items would sell for $65 and you get a gift box with a cute sticker and a little plant flare on the outside.
